FSR-01 shrink force and ratio tester is used for the shrinking forces and shrinkage ratio measurement of heatshrinkable films.

The FSR-01 shrink force and ratio tester is an essential tool for accurately measuring the shrinking forces and shrinkage ratio of heat shrinkable films. These films undergo a manufacturing process where they are extruded and stretched (hot drawn), maintaining this stretched state after cooling. Upon reheating the film to the temperature at which the stress was originally induced and fixed during manufacturing, the stress is released, causing the film to shrink back. The resulting film can be categorized as either biaxially oriented or uniaxially oriented, depending on the specific treatment applied.

Test process

1. The test process begins by heating a well-insulated air oven to the desired temperature. Next, two samples are placed on separate test stations dedicated to shrinkage rate and shrink/contraction force testing. To establish a reference temperature, a temperature probe is positioned in the measuring area. The air oven is then automatically lowered to cover the sample area.
2. During this time, the force and shrink rate are measured, and the shrinkage temperature is considered reached when the maximum shrinking force is achieved. Once the force has decreased by approximately 15% to 30%, the air oven is raised, and the duration is recorded. Concurrently, the assessment of shrinkage ratio takes place at the mean time.
3. This streamlined and efficient test process involves heating the air oven, placing the samples on dedicated test stations, measuring force and shrink rate, reaching the shrinkage temperature, recording the time, and performing the shrinkage ratio assessment.
